Dr Abubaker MD

Dr. Abubaker is a Board Certified Rheumatologist, who completed his Rheumatology Fellowship training at the Emory University School of Medicine and his Internal Medicine training at Yale University Program in Bridgeport CT. He is also Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Soon after Rheumatology fellowship, Dr. Abubaker joined Marietta Rheumatology Associates in year 2001 and since then he has been serving the community with the same practice. He is trained in diagnosing and treating Musculoskeletal Diseases. His areas of interest include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Scleroderma, Gout, Inflammatory Muscle Diseases, Fibromyalgia, Sarcoidosis, and other rare rheumatologic conditions.

He also treats Degenerative Arthritis including Osteoarthritis of hands, knees, neck & back with great passion.

Dr. Abubaker leads Research activities at Marietta Rheumatology Associates. He has been involved with various Clinical Drug Trials over the last several years, and has published research articles in National Rheumatology Journals. In addition he has presented research paper at the American College of Rheumatology National meeting. He is member of American College of Rheumatology, American Medical Association, Medical Association of Georgia, and Georgia Rheumatology Society.

Dr. Abubaker has a keen interest and passion for philanthropic work. He serves as a Board Member for various not-for-profit charitable organizations including the US fund for UNICEF South East USA. He has also been part of the US fund for UNICEF field team to Uganda and Nepal. He chairs the Saad Abubaker Foundation (SAF), a non-profit organization working for the welfare of severely disabled children and their families. He is also a founding board member of Clarkston Community Health Center, serving the unprivileged and under served uninsured patients of Clarkston, GA. Dr. Abubaker, in addition to philanthropic work, likes to travel and read.

Dr. Abubaker has been awarded the Most Patriot Employer Award by the US Navy in 2004. He has been nominated for the Bridgeport Humanness Award in 1997-98. He was also awarded Honorary Georgia Citizen by the Secretary of State of Georgia as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia.
